Now is the time of year when the hard work you put in over the summer means you have a harvest that might need to be preserved. Join us in the front garden to talk dehydrating, canning, pickling, fermenting and freezing. Make and take a jar with fermenting lid and pickle pebble. All ages welcome.

About the event
The abundance of the backyard garden is an amazing thing, but after all of that growing you may have more than your family can eat fresh. Preserving fresh garden produce from the summer garden to eat in the winter is a time honored tradition. In this workshop we will talk briefly about the pros and cons of different preservation methods. Make and a take a jar to ferment at home - will include a fermentation lid and a pickle pebble. Light refreshments served.
