I will be at the Castell Street Market tomorrow from 9-1. It is directly across the street from the New Braunfels Farmer's Market. A few new things -- I have changed my pricing to reflect my veggies starts being little babies to $4 or 6 for $20. They do need to be little babies to sell because they grow so quickly that they can only hold a bit before they need to go in the ground. They are all in plantable pots so they don't suffer transplant shock into the garden. All of the veggies are heirloom varieties grown from seed and chemical free. They are all also especially chosen to beat the summer heat that is right around the corner. If you want to know more about Texas summer gardening then don't forget to check out next Saturday's front yard workshop - Surviving Summer. There is a $25 fee to cover the ollas we will be making - all ages are welcome. You can register to attend online @ www.handpickedheirlooms.com/create.
I will also have a new hanging basket that has a herb/veggie combo - Cucamelon, basil, chamomile that should be both pretty and harvestable for $20.
I will have a Make Your Own Bouquet station where you can fill a jam jar with your choice of flowers for $15, and get a refill for your jam jar for $10. Tomorrow I will have zinnias (they just started blooming!), coreopsis, dahlia, snapdragon and greening material like mint and greggs mist. Big kids have already decided they like it - but it could be a lot of fun for a little who like flowers too:)
Market is one of my favorite days - so much so that I am trying to make it every Saturday now. Please feel free to stop by just to talk gardening, no purchase necessary. I also love talking to miniature gardeners so bring your littles to touch, taste and smell what I have going on.
Happy Gardening,
Sarah
