China Jade cucumber is a productive, heat-tolerant cucumber variety known for its long, slender, deep green fruits with a smooth, glossy skin. The cucumbers are typically straight to slightly curved and are harvested at about 8 to 10 inches long for the best texture and flavor.

The flesh is crisp, mild, and nearly seedless when picked young, with very little bitterness even in warm conditions. As they mature, they can grow longer but may become more seedy and slightly tougher.

The plant grows as a vigorous vine with large, rough, lobed leaves and benefits from trellising to keep fruit straight and improve airflow. It produces bright yellow, star-shaped flowers that attract bees and other pollinators.

In Texas, China Jade cucumber performs well because it handles heat better than many traditional slicing cucumbers. It continues producing through hot summers if given consistent water and some afternoon protection during extreme heat waves.

It is commonly used fresh in salads, pickling at younger stages, or sliced for snacking due to its clean, refreshing crunch and reliable productivity in warm climates.
